AlarmBox

AlarmBox

Turnkey’s AlarmBox is a controller for dust suppression equipment. It can be set to alert users when predetermined levels of pollutants are reached or exceeded.

The AlarmBox is compatible with all of Turnkey’s dust monitors and can be set up to provide audio or visual alarms. There is no requirement for an additional computer but it can be configured to work with computer software via a laptop, PC or mobile device with our free software or Android app AlarmBoxApp. It connects simply to your chosen device via the AlarmBox’s USB point. When configured with the appropriate software the AlarmBox will automatically detect the parameters being measured by the connected air monitoring device.

Product Description

With a traffic light warning system, the visual lights are clear and require no explanation. The trigger points can be set at specific levels as required. For example, one alarm could be activated when PM10 > 250 µg/m3 AND (PM2.5 > 20 µg/m3 OR PM1 > 10 µg/m3) AND wind speed > 5 m/s.

The AlarmBox has the capacity to store 16 different scripts, which are saved to its flash memory.

Once a preset level is reached, the alarm will activate. Alternatively, it can be programmed to activate only if a level is exceeded for a specific time period. Depending on the requirements of the end user, this could be an audible alarm, traffic light visual system, or it could be programmed to automatically activate dust suppression equipment.

The software and app can be used to create an alarm scheme based on:

  • Dust concentration – any combination of TSP, PM10, PM2.5 or PM1
  • Wind speed
  • Wind direction

How it Works

The alarm box uses the analogue output of an Osiris or Topas monitor to visualise current concentrations of dust and their threat level (GREEN, AMBER or RED), these threat levels are customizable and can be set by the user for their specific needs and site conditions.

What is an Alarm Box used for?

An Alarm Box is used to provide real-time alerts when dust, gas, or environmental parameters exceed predefined safety limits, ensuring quick response and improved site safety.

AlarmBox uses configurable trigger conditions based on dust concentration, wind speed, and wind direction. Once predefined thresholds are exceeded, it activates alerts such as green, amber, or red warning lights, ensuring quick and clear interpretation of air quality levels.

Yes, AlarmBox is highly customizable. Users can set specific trigger levels, combine multiple environmental conditions, and store up to 16 different alarm scripts in its internal memory to suit various site conditions.

AlarmBox can generate multiple types of alerts including visual traffic light signals, audible alarms, and automated system triggers like dust suppression equipment activation, depending on user configuration.

AlarmBox can monitor dust concentration (TSP, PM10, PM2.5, PM1), wind speed, and wind direction. It uses analogue output from compatible monitors like Osiris or Topas to determine real-time environmental conditions.
