What are Oil Quality Sensors (OQS) and what do they measure?

Oil Quality Sensor (OQS) are advanced sensors designed to monitor real-time oil condition inside engines, gearboxes, hydraulics, and industrial machinery. They measure changes in oil chemistry to detect degradation, contamination, and wear-related issues.

The sensors use proprietary Tan Delta technology, which analyzes the dielectric constant of the oil. As oil degrades or becomes contaminated (with fuel, water, soot, or metal particles), its electrical properties change. The sensor detects these changes and provides a continuous oil condition index.
